Enabling DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail):
- Access the Google Admin Console: Sign in to your Google Workspace admin account at admin.google.com using your administrator credentials.
- Navigate to the Apps section: Once logged in, click on “Apps” or “Apps > Google Workspace” in the admin console.
- Select Gmail: From the list of apps, locate and click on “Gmail” to access the Gmail settings.
- Go to the “Authentication” tab: In the Gmail settings, click on the “Authentication” tab.
- Enable DKIM: Under the “Authenticate email” section, locate the DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) option and ensure it is enabled.
- Generate DKIM keys: Click on the “Generate new record” button to generate the DKIM keys for your domain.
- Add DKIM records to DNS: The generated DKIM keys consist of two records, a TXT record and a CNAME record. These records need to be added to your DNS configuration. Follow the on-screen instructions provided by Google to add the DKIM records to your domain’s DNS settings.
- Verify DKIM setup: After adding the DKIM records to your DNS, go back to the Gmail settings in the Google Admin Console and click on the “Start authentication” button. Google will check if the DKIM records are properly set up. It may take some time for the changes to propagate.
- Confirm successful DKIM authentication: Once the DKIM setup is verified, Google will indicate that DKIM authentication is successful.
By following these steps, you can enable SPF and DKIM for your Google Workspace domain, helping to improve email deliverability and prevent email spoofing or tampering.
