How to create a sub domain using cPanel

  Domains
  1. Log in to cPanel: Access your cPanel account using your login credentials. The login URL is typically in the format “yourdomain.com/cpanel” or provided by your hosting provider.
  2. Locate the Domains section: Once logged in, look for the “Domains” section. It is usually located towards the top of the cPanel interface.
  3. Click on “Subdomains”: Within the Domains section, you will find an icon or link labeled “Subdomains.” Click on it to access the subdomain management page.
  4. Enter the subdomain details: On the Subdomains page, you’ll see a form to create a new subdomain. Fill in the following details:
    • Subdomain: Enter the desired name for your subdomain. For example, if you want to create “blog.yourdomain.com,” enter “blog” in this field.
    • Domain: Select the main domain under which you want to create the subdomain from the dropdown menu.
    • Document Root: By default, cPanel will automatically populate this field with the appropriate directory path based on the subdomain name. You can modify this if needed.
  5. Click on “Create”: Once you’ve entered the subdomain details, click on the “Create” or “Add” button to create the subdomain.
  6. Verify subdomain creation: After clicking “Create,” cPanel will display a success message indicating that the subdomain has been created. You can also see the new subdomain listed in the Subdomains section.
  7. Configure subdomain settings (optional): Depending on your requirements, you may want to configure additional settings for the subdomain. For example, you can set up a separate FTP account, create email accounts associated with the subdomain, or configure specific DNS settings. These options are typically available in the respective sections of the cPanel interface.
  8. Test the subdomain: Once the subdomain is created, you can test it by entering the subdomain URL in your web browser. If everything is set up correctly, you should see the default content or the website associated with the subdomain.

By following these steps, you can easily create a subdomain on cPanel and start using it for various purposes, such as hosting a separate website, setting up a blog, or creating a subdirectory for specific content.
